UGC constitutes pay review commission for teachers

The UGC has constituted the pay review commission for pay revision of academic staff of universities and colleges. The committee Headed by UGC member V S Chauhan would impact on about seven lakh teachers across the country in various State-run and deemed universities and colleges. The five-member committee will review the implementation of previous decisions of the government under the revision of pay scale scheme approved for academic staff. The committee has been constituted for addressing the increased protests by the educational fraternity to scrap the use of Academic Performance Index (API) for career progression.
