MERC Global adopts the double
blind peer review mechanism, which denotes that neither the author nor reviewer
recognize the identity of one another. Therefore, the reviewers should not share
the manuscript or its evidence with anyone else other than the editor until the
manuscript has not been accepted or rejected.
Reviewers should accept the
manuscript forwarded to them only if manuscript belongs to their area of proficiency.
Moreover, reviewers should also make sure that they are competent enough to
review the manuscript asked to review by an editor. If manuscript does not
match with area of proficiency or reviewers are not competent enough to review
the manuscript. Return the manuscript to the editor with mentioning the reason.
Reviewers are expected to accomplish
the review within expected deadlines stated by an editor. Therefore, reviewers
should make sure that they have sufficient time to review. If, reviewers are
not capable to accomplish the review within deadlines or require more time,
should discuss the issue immediately with editor to avoid unnecessary delay in
the review process.
Reviewers are expected to abstain
any potential conflict of interest associated with manuscript. Inform the
editor about the same. Decision to withdraw the manuscript from the reviewer
would be of editor.
Reviewers should remember that
MERC Global publishes original manuscripts fall within the aim and scope of its
different publications. Therefore, it is expected from the reviewers that they
should furnish timed, appropriate and informed review focused on aim and scope of
the publication for which the review is sought.
The fundamental mandate for
acceptance of any manuscript is that it must contribute substantially to the
knowledge of readers in both the aspects theoretical as well as practical.
Reviewers are expected to cater a high quality review in that way so that
authors must get fostered from the reviews.
Reviewers are expected to have a
constructive approach throughout the review process. Reviewers should deploy a
positive feedback; even if the manuscript is not good enough. Reviewers are also
expected to tell the authors that where the manuscript falls short and how the
manuscript could be improved, enriched and embellished.
Reviewers should also be very
specific throughout the review process. Reviewers are expected to tell that
what and where the authors are doing correct and accurate or incorrect and
inaccurate. Reviewers should deliver the feedback to the authors in line with
the recommendations of reviewers to the editors.
Reviewers are expected to appraise
the overall contribution of the manuscript in the existing literature.
Therefore, reviewers should make sure that manuscript is appropriate, relevant,
interesting and embellishing the readers’ comprehension, intelligence and knowledge
of important issues of management.
Editor of the particular
publication is the conclusive authority to take the decision of acceptance or
rejection of submitted manuscripts. Reviewers should forward their
recommendations to the editor only. Therefore, recommendations of reviewers
should not be intended for the authors.
Note: These are few general guidelines for reviewers at MERC Global. Reviewers will receive detailed guidelines along with the manuscript forwarded to them for review.
